About Learning to Lose
Learning to Lose started as a song written by Dane Rippee, musician and one of Patrick’s longtime friends, who died of Neuroendocrine Cancer Carcinoma in 2014. Dane’s five-year battle and unwavering optimism in even his last days inspired the Learning to Lose brand.
Today, Learning to Lose is a podcast, scripted project, and now, a reality show. The main objective of the Learning to Lose brand is to inspire people to accept that failure is a necessary part of any journey. Mainstream media and the curated lives of influencers have conditioned people to be ashamed of their losses, demons, and everyday struggles, rather than embrace them. Patrick, the anti-influencer influencer, uses his cell phone as a tool to expose the “necessary truths” that people are too afraid to seek out themselves.
